International Students

The Master’s program in Engineering Management requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program, which is difficult to meet for many international students. If an international program is not accredited through Engineering Commission of ABET, we use the Washington Accord, and the agencies listed for each country, to verify equivalent accreditation.

This Engineering Management program does not qualify a student for an F-1 student visa as the program is entirely online, and, therefore, does not have the same structure or financial arrangements as traditional, research-oriented graduate programs (fellowships, assistantships, etc.).

International students who are not native speakers of English must earn a written English test score that is high enough to waive any University of Arkansas English proficiency courses.

To waive English proficiency courses, the international applicant must earn a satisfactory score on at least one of the following tests found here.

English Proficiency Test Exemptions

Applicants whose native language is English are exempt. Native language is defined as the primary language a person spoke while growing up in their family, community and nation. Any applicant that is not from one of the listed countries will be asked for additional proof if they are claiming English as their native language. Applicants who have completed English Composition I and II with grades of A, B, or C from a regionally accredited U.S. university or a country where English is the native language are exempt.

The Engineering Management program does not provide financial assistance for funding of tuition and fees. This includes scholarships, graduate assistantships, or financial aid. However, these financial resources are accepted for funding of tuition and fees. If you wish to seek employment, please visit the University’s Human Resource Department.
