Program Overview

The Master of Science in Engineering Management program prepares engineers to lead and manage teams, projects, and organizations with technical workforces to meet strategic objectives.  Students will increase their engineering management knowledge to enable them to develop and deliver new products and services to create value for their organization and customers.

Degree Requirements

To obtain the Master of Science in Engineering Management, students must complete 30 hours of coursework and a comprehensive exam.

The comprehensive exam consists of a recorded presentation followed by a live exit interview.

Admission Requirements

The Master of Science in Engineering Management program is open to students who have earned an ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and minimum 3.0 GPA in the last sixty hours of completed coursework or cumulatively. Applicants with a GPA between 2.5 and 3.0 are encouraged to apply and considered on a case-by-case basis.

Fill out the online application form from the options on our apply page. Watch for an email confirming your application form was received.

Within 1-2 business days you will receive email instructions on how to activate your university email account and access your Applicant Center.

Send official transcripts from each undergraduate institutions attended to the Graduate School.

UA - Fayetteville graduates do not need to send in transcripts.

Application Process and Requirements

Tuition Details

  • $60 admissions application fee and NO out-of-state tuition.
  • Tuition is $303.88 per credit hour. All courses offered by the program are three credit hours.
  • Distance Technology Fee for all online courses is $50 per credit hour or $150 per 3-hour course.
  • $30 Off-Campus (For non-OMGT/EMGT engineering courses)

The Engineering Management program offers coursework that is suitable to all engineering disciplines, as well as those in business, science and technology. Our program is designed for engineers wanting to advance into a technical leadership role and teaches skills necessary to manage people, money and projects. MSEM graduates are among the most versatile professionals spanning across numerous industries, including Northrup Grumman, Lockhed Martin, JB Hunt, American Airlines, BAE Systems, and all branches of the U.S. Military.
