The Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) integrates technical engineering skills with essential management principles, preparing you for leadership roles that require both expertise. An MSEM can open doors to higher-level positions in engineering management and gain crucial leadership knowledge and decision-making skills enabling you to manage teams and projects effectively.

The program reinforces your engineering knowledge while teaching you to apply the knowledge in a business context in courses like engineering emamagement strategic management and planning, financial management, and legal issues and ethics. Understanding how the business operates enables you to develop and deliver new products and services to create value for your customers.

The MSEM program has been awarded as a Certified Graduate Program by the American Society of Engineering Management (ASEM) who recognizes that the MSEM program provides provides cutting-edge education and aligns with ASEM’s rigorous standards of the Engineering Management Body of Knowledge. This may also provide you with a direct path to professional certifications trademarked as a “Certified Associate in Engineering Management” or a Certified Professional in Engineering Management

Degree Requirements

To obtain the Master of Science in Engineering Management, students must complete 30 hours of coursework and a comprehensive exam.

The comprehensive exam consists of a recorded presentation followed by a live exit interview.

Admission Requirements

The Master of Science in Engineering Management program is open to students who have earned a conferred bachelor of science in engineering degree from an engineering program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (or equivalent accreditation and minimum 3.0 GPA in the last sixty hours of completed coursework or cumulatively. Applicants with a GPA between 2.5 and 3.0 are encouraged to apply and considered on a case-by-case basis.

Within 1-2 business days you will receive email instructions on how to activate your university email account and access your Applicant Center.

Application Process and Requirements

Tuition Details

  • $60 admissions application fee and NO out-of-state tuition.
  • Tuition is $313 per credit hour. All courses offered by the program are three credit hours.
  • Distance Technology Fee for all online courses is $50 per credit hour or $150 per 3-hour course.
